About Us

Jamie D. Fisher, PhD, CCC-SLP is a highly qualified and experienced speech-language pathologist (SLP), endoscopist, CE-training course director, and owner at Nashville Speech & Swallowing Specialists, PLLC. She received her PhD in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University and has SLP licensure in multiple states. Dr. Fisher has over fifteen years of experience as an SLP and her clinical interests include Speech, Language, Dysphagia, FEES/Modified Barium Swallow Studies, Voice, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, and working with patients requiring tracheostomy/mechanical ventilation. She has extensive experience working with both adults and children in various healthcare and educational settings, including acute care hospitals, sub-acute care medical facilities, rehabilitation facilities, school districts, and private practice across America.

Dr. Fisher has American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence. She holds endorsement certification for endoscopy practice and is a certified endoscopy trainer of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). She is also a certified McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Provider.

Dr. Fisher has served as a clinical lecturer at Middle Tennessee State University and adjunct professor at the University of Maryland - College Park. She is currently adjunct professor at University of West Georgia, Jackson State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, and the University of Louisiana - Monroe.

Dr. Fisher has created and directed several training courses, including Tracheostomy and Ventilator Patient Care Training for SLPs and the Micro-Class Adult & Pediatric FEES Training courses. She is also the co-creator and co-director of The Medical SLP Clinical Symposium at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She has served as a subject matter expert in the development of ASHA’s updated Adult Dysphagia Practice Portal.
